Default BT service

Hi there, didn't know where to put this one so here goes, just had 2 calls on my landline from a 'BT text delivery service' offering 4 options to access a message, I just put the phone down as it sounds like a scam, is it?

Thanks in advance

Not usually - its usually someone has just sent you a text message. BT will deliver using their text to speech converter.

I think there is a cost associated with taking the text but it should be reasonably clear what that cost will be. One of the options should also tell you the date/time of the call and callers telephone No. One of the other options is probably delete. Check the details - if its not a number you recognise then just delete.

Yes, my girlfriend gets these from Boots as reminders for her contact lenses.

We get them from our dentist, had it come through a few times on the trot yesterday. None of our handsets are SMS enabled hence the text to speech.
