A friend of mine has asked if I could fit some cables so they can watch Sky in the bedrooms using the UHF2 output. They already have Sky+ so do have a couple of spare ports on the LNB. As they are all mad sports fans (dad and two sons) I wondered about multiroom so they could each watch something different but I'm unsure of costs so I've some questions.
1 Each room is £10.25 a month and requires a phone point? 2 What boxes are shipped for multiroom and how much to they cost? 3 Is there an installation fee for each one or do they offer a free self install option? 4 If Sky insist on installation how much do they charge for phone points, I assume they do these as well considering it's a requirement of the contract? 5 Are there any other setup fees, probably knowing Sky! |

if you still under contract then am sure you would need to have each box connected to the Phone line. You can install the extra extension phone sockets yourself. 2 What boxes are shipped for multiroom and how much to they cost? You can buy the boxes from ebay... And from am what aware of is that Sly will give you the SKY+ boxes and not the previous ones. Cheaper to get it from Ebay as u can grab em for like 30 quid. 3 Is there an installation fee for each one or do they offer a free self install option? You can do it yourself mate.. its not rocket science. they will charge you for installation I would assume but u would need to ask them. 4 If Sky insist on installation how much do they charge for phone points, I assume they do these as well considering it's a requirement of the contract? No idea as you would need to ask em mate. 5 Are there any other setup fees, probably knowing Sky Not that I know off but if you if the STB's already then I think they will only charge you for the viewing card. |

I think you may find that Sky are starting to supply HD boxes now, rather than SD ones, which can't be bad. Worth checking with them though.

Belated thanks for the replies chaps, he's decided not to spend out any extra on Sky so has gone for a mix of Freesat with UHF2 into the loftbox for premium stuff around the house.
