yes, of course !

A modded cable modem really doesn't give you anything in terms of real anonymity. Just by looking at the IP address they can determine here you are to within a hundred or so houses. If they start looking at other parameters it quickly narrows to about 10 houses or less. After that its usually down to a quick check by an onsite engineer and they have you down to one single house. Its really suprisingly simple so its quite astounding that they rarely bother !
