Default Help my box is not working

I have been having a read through the forums and learnt about a tool which fixes the starview hd combo.
Basically my box does not come on, it has a red light on the front which i presume is power? and nothing is happening. I have tried to use this starview fix and I have connected the box to the computer via rs232 connection and the progress bar isnt moving. I have tried on 3 different computers to make sure and Im pretty much stumped as to what to do next. can anyone help please?

I am not talking about the new firmware for sv6/7 I am talking about the hd combo tool which is supposed to unbrick the box or something like that

I have heard that a few boxes seem to stop working when hot. Try disconnecting for 30 minutes or so and try again.

The SV HD Fix does reload the base firmware, you do need to select the correct COM port first and it does need to be correctly configured, it does work but sometimes seems to take a few minutes before the download starts.

Thanks for the advice. I left it off overnight just incase of such things. The tool has worked before as a friend sorted out the mac address problem for me quite a while back and im 100% sure theres no error in what im doing.

I downloaded a file called HD-200_Download.exe and it came with HD300N_SC_RS232_1013.bin. I open up the application, select a comm port and click connect, then select the above .bin file then switch on the box and then nothing happens. I've tried different compatibility modes, running as administrator, different computers but all give the same result. I just don't have any more ideas what to do with it and I really hope it isnt bricked or anything.

I once had a box take around 30 minutes to start loading. Just leave it for a while and see if it does start - I guess you have nothing to lose.

Left the computer on for 4 hours and still no change. I'm guessing there is no hope for the box now other than a doorstop?

I've been using a file package labelled SVHD+FIX.zip which I presume is what file you mean. I don't know what else I can do to fix it.
