Default SV HD combo help needed.

Hi folks I need some help and advice please. I've been using my Starview HD Combo on Sat (not cable) now for the last few months and it's been excellent. But, since the weekend I've been getting a constant disconnecting and reconnecting problem to the server. It disconnects about every 9 mins and takes about a minute to reconnect. So constantly getting "scrambled channel" notification every 9 mins.

This has only just started and I haven't got a clue why. I've tried resetting everything, router and box but it's done no good. I've also tried a couple of test lines from different servers but it's not made any difference. This is now driving me nuts, any help or insight would be appreciated.

Mant thanks

i had similar problems when 1st getting combo m8, i had my server provider do umpteen checks and it turned out i had a couple of old clines i hadnt deleted were causing conflictions to my active line. i also found using newcamd was far better than cccam. hope this helps you out m8 if not, you could try lincsat from the forum traders section.

Hi Stevieboy10,

Thanks for your reply. I've only got the one line on, all the rest are empty. I always delete the old ones.

It does seem though that it is a conflict with the box trying to connect to the SV cable server unsuccessfully. I had it working OK all day yesterday and this morning, but when I went out I switched off at the mains and the problems back. I'm going to try doing what I did yesterday and if that doesn't work this time I'll flash with the Knightrider FW which is supposed to be just for satellite and see how that goes.

Once again thanks for your feedback, it's appreciated.

Regards

Artysen

sorry forgot to mention that the sv server would conflict, you can simply turn the sv server off to resolve any conflictions, if this doesnt work try reflash the box with combo+fix. this is the only way to erase flashes and restore box to factory settings, which requires the null modem cable to be used for flash btw. then just simply load the knightrider file on its own without any carling images and you should be good to go. if you still have the same results i would say its most defo a server problem.

Thanks for the suggestions man.

I flashed with the Knightrider FW this morning and so far so good. I've only got Sat and terrestrial choice now so hopefully it will stop trying to connect with cable server.
Mind you, I haven't switched off at the mains yet, last time I did the problem was back. If it does come back I'll try your suggestions above.

I couldn't see how to turn the SV cable server off, I'd appreciate if you could let me know how to do that for future ref?

Cheers

to turn off the sv server simply press menu-network-CS Net- then select off. this will disable the sv server for cable side. let me know how you get on.

Thanks man, that's handy to know if I ever go back to the Carling FW. Since I flashed it with the Knightrider FW though it's been excellent...even better than before. Cheers for your response, it's been appreciated.

Hi Keith,

Yeah, that's the same FW I used, it's been faultless since. I think quite a few people are going to have this problem now that the cable server is gone.
