I worked out what it was. The homeplugs each use a new ip address. So I allowed for more addresses on the router and it worked. Instructions are non existant !!!

So do all homeplugs use different ip's or is it only Orange plugs?

all homeplugs have new addresses because they are a new wired connection opposed to a wireless connection.

I've used orange WIFI plug in's, with no issues. All I did was plug one into the route and the other into my KV. The route must of given it an IP. Also I've used the same plug in on my PC upstair. with no issues. The distruction can be found on the net. If you can't find'em, I'll see if I can find the ops manual which came with mind and I'll post it if I'll allowed, or just PM

First of all learn how to spell. Or try doing a English GCSE again !!!

If you connect the homeplugs up and you have wep on it. It wont work if the router hasnt acknowledged a new ip address and wep key.

If you take wep of it ...... you have to allow for it still on the router for a new ip address especially if you have reserved spaces.

I rest my case.

Over and out.

Am confused of what you have posted above because the WEP actually stands for Wireless Equivalent Policy, so what doesn't make sense is that why would Home-plugs needs a WEP key in the first place as it doesn't 802.11. Home-plug are basically an implementation of Rj45 cabling over the air, so as far as both devices are concerned they think they are physically plugged in.

Its clearly of an RJ45 (Ethernet). Ethernet does not carry WEP. So if the user has WEP switched on they either way it should not make any difference @ all.
