I cant confirm it either way but I cant imagine them doing the latest firmware if there were loads of the HD boxes lying around. I would of expected them to want to move the boxes they had the greatest amount of money tied up in. Given that the HD boxes will be more expensive than the older boxes that would indicate a very large stock of the older boxes and relatively few of the new !

The above assumptions may be wrong. It may be the problem is tied more to my point /2 and they simply dont have access to the source code for the newer boxes.

Much prefer the EPG & picture quality of the SV, even without the HD, but at least the KV servers work for the most part. The only channel that seems twitchy for me is Sky1 which I mostly watch.

I dont think the problem is between HD and non HD channels so if they make a fix which work for combo, it should work irrespective of HD or non HD channel as it will be same way and same server for getting the key.

I know it will be a totally different set of code for combo boxes as the box also work on the satellite side. Iam also confident that its more about shifting the boxes than fixing the CS server and thats why I said they could have have got a paid CS server and then shift the boxes for cheaper prices.

I'd guess that is a major part of the problem. To do what they've done with the older boxes they have obviously had access to that boxes source code so relatively easy mods. Looking at the code suggests that its actually very similar to the original - just a new gui pasted on top to make it look different for some reason. For various reasons, I dont believe that this new code has been produced by the same programmers that did the original code.

So, it may be there is no access to the original combo code for these new programmers. I'm not even sure the two boxes were actually provided by the same company (there's a tendency to buy in ready made solutions and 'customise' with these small outfits so different boxes are often sourced from different companies).
