its a fair point and marketing wise a good idea for starpoo, restart the service then sell off all old stock or even new stock then after a while close the whole server thing down and run. that sounds like the kind of thing starpoo would possibly do.
or they may not do the above.

thing is none of us knows!

unless we have any visitors from the future?

There were many people posting on forums that the server would never come back on and posting that it was a fact not a rumour - they were wrong.

TBH, would you expect them to say anything else on the KV forum.

The only way I can see a service like this being permanent is by some form of ongoing funding, I can't see KV going on indefinitely without some form of ongoing payment.

well i never been on the kv forum(didn't know thye had one ) but if you look it has been said on this forum never mine anywhere else. and it not 20,000 they have in stock it's 17,000.

as for there server going back down after that again unlike some i will stick my neck out and say yes. for these reasons

1: the makers off the boxes in korea has dumped them (said they wasters)
2: why pay for subs on cards if you can't make money. (we all know what starview like.
3: if they get someone to make them new box (new name) then it be a diff server ie more money

now there's no one on here are any forum (specially those that sell the starview boxes that can diff )

yes and i was one off the people that siad they wouldn't come back on im glad i was wrong for the people that bought them. but they not back on for the reasons you think they back on for certain reasons one is to sell the remaining boxes the other i can't say but i know and any one u knows how police and courts work can figure that out.

as for kv staying on well like any thing else it's a gamble lo can't see any reason why not. as for more funding well depends on how much they want to make . maybe they happy with makeing enough to cover all the costs and a few quid for there time. (not sure and know nothing about them are even own a kv box)

but again if it means that much to people don't buy any off the boxes in fact don't sell any then there be no worries off how long they last stick to buying boxes/selling boxes that can be used if the boxes go off. ie linux boxes

There are anti KV and anti SV people on the forums so it’s unlikely you will ever get an unbiased opinion. Anyone who tells you KV will be on forever and there will be no extra costs passed onto the customer is kidding themselves.

As for SV putting back on a server just to move boxes, the hard work has now been done so it’s unlikely they will drop the service after the last box has left the building. It would be quite simple to have had the boxes reworked and changed for sat with alternative packaging. The UK cable market is small compared to the Sat market.

Regardless of which brand you buy, all are a risk, not guaranteed. Pay you £ take your chance.

I for one would rather pay full subs than buy a starview box the way they have treated most of their buyers in the
last year...............................

I suspect the SV server will probably be around for a while as, from a marketing point of view, it would be a disaster for it to be taken down after the present stock is flogged. Simply put, none of the dealers would ever trust them again if they pulled the plug so they would find it nigh on impossible to sell anything in the future (ie new boxes) regardless of what they call themselves (they all know each others names so company name doesn't really matter).

Due to the concept of the '12' month package with SV it doesn't really cost them any more to keep the present server up and running for that 12 months then, when the package expires, they will have a ready made set of new customers for their latest box - thats the possibility of another 30,000+ boxes at £100+ each (thats £3 Million+ to those a little slow at maths)

The one thing we know the SV people have in spades is greed - £3 Million per year on a perpetual basis would be difficult for them to pass up !
