Exclamation Fast Cable Modem help me? cheers

damn i just did a big write up n internet cannot be displayed !!

anyway! long story short

i am a dbox2 user and proud!
i want to know about these faster modems as my friend has one and his dad wont tell me where to get one

i need to know about
  • mac address's!
  • the right modem
  • the right price
and possibly a guide on how to do it would be very very good! sorry if it seems as tho im asking for a lot but im a ''newbie'' when it comes to this!! thanks alot hope to here from u guys soon!!

There is a guide on the gmail drive called haynes guide that has a wealth of information about MAC's etc and how to hack a modem yourself. If you can't be bothered or haven't the nerve to modify one yourself, I can sell you one - see the Lincsats nick-nacks thread

The NTL250 modems are cheaper, the Surfboard seem slightly more stable but there is a small doubt about whether they will go to the full 20meg download when it launches.

do u think im better off waiting for the 20mb connection to launch and then buy one mate?

oh and i am interested in buying one if it duznt brake and if it ever did u would help me and fix it! Cheers!!!

oh yeah i looked on ebay for hackware their are 2 on at the mo and i was going to buy one but then thought nar ide rather have one ready to plug n play!
