Sagem DBOX2 Help - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

Hello, i have taken in a sagem dbox 2 from my friend as he was needing it reimaged, ive done a good few dboxes now but this one seems to be given my trouble. When i run the flashing assistant i cant ever get the box to say flashing... a problem indeed. I tried clicking the option to use a null modem cable to and whilst this looked to be doing something it mentioned that it could not reach the lcd. Im used to just running the program and powering up and away it goes. Anyone any idea what might be wrong?

I've never been able to IFA a sagem without using a null-modem cable, don't you have one to use?

If there is a working image on the box, you can just FTP it to the /tmp folder and flash it from the box itself.

Thanks for replying. Ive got a null modem cable yes, the box is not in a currently working state. When i put the power on i get some numbers on the display at the start, then just a line of different colour flashes across and thats all that happens. Is the thing it was saying about the lcd normal?

You do get some text on the LCD on boot, sounds like you will have to persevere with IFA - there are several different versions available. I use 1.5.6 but others have more success with version 2+
