One possible reason for KV going down was problems with VM. Now the following is been reported on VM's website:

Below is a description of the service status of the Broadband (ADSL) service

No reported problems

There are currently no reported problems with Broadband (ADSL) services.

Before it was considered a possible reason as to why KV went down when it was showing that VM are working on a reported issue, as mentioned is the now infamous "all channels down?" thread.
