Houston i have a problem (DBOX2 SCAN)

please let me apologise in advance, this has probaly been asked a thousand times, but i have searched and cannot find the answer.

i have had the box a good while and have had no problems other than the NTL/Telewest merge, losing some channels, but as we all do, i know a guy who could sort it, but he has moved

my box boots up with Nokia DBox2, MR Dude ( shelby cobra) dont know if thats good or not.

any way , i wanted to watch the match tonight, sat down, NO SKY SPORTS 1,so rushed upstairs , looked on this site and bravely decided to carry out a fast scan ( never done this before ) but success got the channells back,

HOWEVER

Half of the chanells went back to the normal bouquets, Main/Adult etc, but the other half created new bouquets, with single chanells on ,with such colourfull names as nopig.141 etc.

Question, how do i resolve this, i didnt change any settings, other than, enable fast scan, so i scanned on bruteforce/update bouquets what should the settings have been.

also how do i access the idiots guide on GMail, to stop mythering you guys.

You Bouquets should have been leave current or keep existing. If you don't have a backup of your bouquets file, you can re-organize them with the internal bouquets editor or use something like bouquetter.

thanks for the very quick reponse, it is appreciated, the reason i am confused (and it doesnt take much) is that most chanells did end up in the right directory, i.e sky sports 2&3 went into the sports bouquet, but sky sports 1 didnt.

i assume if i delete the additional bouquets and leave the originals and rescan, it will not rersolve the problem.

on the bouquet editor, you can add/delete move etc, but you cannot put one bouquet(file) into another one, is this correct ?

You can't put one channel in more than one bouquet. The problem with SS1 is that it's on the same channel as one of the Movies was - the bouquets file still thinks it's a movie channel.

Try googling bouquet wizzard, there's a new version out now it works quite well.

thanks, its a little academic now, this morning the box was frozen, when i unplugged it to reboot, it listed all the channells , but could not find them, i assumed i had forgotten to save.

so i re-scanned, same problem, finds 35/35 transponders but now NO channels, if i scroll right, where it used to give the channel name, it now just says WAITING FOR TIME ?

so basicaly, ive bollocked it, unless you know any better.

You could have a tuner fault, it's worth trying a different image but if it's the Tuner it won't help

even if i have deleted all the boquets, should it still find and store channels, i now know, i should have left it set at (leave current) but i didnt then, as a result, there is nothing there.
when i boot it up, i get a message saying, no chanells found, carry out a scan.
im sure its something ive done in my stupidity, that i shouldn't have

Hi all, hopefully someone can help. Got a Sagem dbox and with telewest. Got the guys out cause my broaband was running slow and tv channels kept disappearing. Had them out last week and then my channels started moving all over so I decided to re-scan and try to sort it...bare in mind I did this after a night out on the sauce and was blitzed...not the smaterst moves. Anyway I now have no channels whatsoever and I wondered if anyone could help this jakeball get my channels back. I can't even get any terestial channels as everything is lost.
