Hey Brian did you change something with how cookies are handled on this site in the last few days??
Now when i login,I AM STILL A GUEST until i click a message base.... I start here: http://www.techwatch.co.uk/forums and click REMEMBER ME and login... When the page reloads,I AM NOT LOGGED IN!! (Unless i click a base) On another site i have similar issues, one running MyBB (Im on a couple running MyBB (BEST FREE OPTION) but only this one gives the errors) www.wildlifeuk.net Seeing as this only happens here and there,is there something the sites are doing differently with cooking handling?? (Just started happening here 2 days ago) |

Nothing changed here - not sure why it might be.
However, didn't a number of browsers update a few days ago? If so, do you think it could be related to that? Emptying your browser cache can often help as well, just in case there's a funky Javascript file saved locally that isn't working properly on the website.

Nothing changed here at all - the forum software hasn't seen an update for a while, so there's nothing to change on site at present.
The only things changed have been little HTML tweaks, so as making the forums fixed width. Nothing on the forum software itself.

Clear your cache, and clear your cookie for TW and try logging in again. It might take a couple of goes before it sticks, but after that I would expect you to remain logged in - unless there's an issue with your browser security settings which has changed.

OK i found out what the problem is
When you logon using www.techwatch.co.uk/forums it works fine When you login using techwatch.co.uk/forums (No WWW) your not logged in when the page refreshes (BECAUSE THE COOKIE IS ASSIGNED TO www.techwatch.co.uk AND NOT techwatch.co.uk/forums) I was just going to my address bar and typing techwatch.co.uk/forums and this was happening....When i add WWW before it,its fine........ I think you could fix this by redirecting all requests for techwatch.co.uk/forums to http://www.techwatch.co.uk/forums (i wonder if thats what the problem was on cableforum)Im glad the issue was that easy to solve!! Glad to hear you solved it.
![]() I originally had some code in place to automatically redirect from the non-www form to the www - I'll look to get that reinstalled again.

I guess its not really a big deal as once you click anything your redirected back to the www side...... I just checked cableforum as i always just type cableforum.co.uk/board into the bar there also but that isnt the reason it happend there....... (Guess i wont ever know (Just glad it deosnt happen anymore )Thank you buddy
