Default Satellite Scene Is Dead!

Is it me or has the interest gone out of the satellite scene? As a retailer and having spoken to my colleagues in the industry, business is really quite and has been since Mid Feb. I reckon this is because of a lack of EMU/Softcams and more reliance on C/S

Hopefully things will pick up, but I doubt it will until July when again football will help. However I think all the Tring users will be very disappointed as I cannot see anyone getting their cards renewed due to the recent problems.

Hi Ian,from someone who was once satellite mad,100% the interest has gone out the game.If you ask me it's been a lot longer the interest has gone out.People get receiver after receiver forced @ them 2 watch tv,CS no-one can talk about,it's no wonder people walk away.Think like this Ian,i bought a vantage HD-8000s from you.when patched the only thing on it working was that Mezzo channel.Another time i got a cass3 for updating a Diablo 2 cam,as the old cass2 could not do the job on the new D cams.So if others like me who have been catched out 2 many times, there won't be any interest.I was going to get a Dreambox off you some time back, but then looked back on what does not work,so i soon changed my mind. This is not a go @ you but the truth.I won't buy any thing as there is a good chance i can't get it to do the job i payed it to do.

That message was also displayed with exactly the same capitialization on the Marconi Digital website, though it doesn't appear now, so presumably they're still selling them.

Unfortunately, thats one of the major problems. Its no longer about the hobby but rather the expectation of getting free TV.

There are still plenty of satellite hobbyists around, though I suspect that box sales are driven by some extent by what channels they 'come with'.

Hi mate, not being funny, but as far as hobby goes, that went a long time back. For it to be a hobby we need to talk with each other, today that's been killed. You say anything you get back it's read the rules.Me i can't be doing with all this so i stay well out the way. With this your going to get kick backs & not sell satellite receivers. What the hell did some expect to happen.People talk & the whole satellite game has a knock on effect, from interst to selling satellite receiver & so on.If you go back a short time it was about getting free TV mate, thats what this hobby was about. Then when those who got free TV thay gave back to the forums & felt apart of the sat world.I use to be a feedhunter & i mean someone who put the hours in,now how the sat world is today,i hate. This is a honest veiw & the truth. No ofence to anyone,iv said what i'm going to say, this was just a point of veiw.
all the best.
