You really cant expect an instamt restart to these systems. I'm sure a lot of stuff has had to be replaced and tested to get even this far.[/QUOTE]

...and why would this be? Were we not led to believe that the problems were nothing to do with Hardware or SW issues but that they were taken down for security reasons? In which case even assuming they had to relocate and change some config files I cant see how it's more than just hook up and switch on. Or am I wrong somewhere?

Not questioning your knowledge just curious. ;-)

From what I hear a very minor part of the uploader network was security compromised and the whole system was taken down as a precaution. The compromise did apparently involve various Police raids and equipment seizures. Such seizures would obviously necessitate the closure and replacement of the upload servers to prevent any further tracing of uploaders.

I would guess that there has now been significant changes in the system architecture in order to try and prevent such events occuring in the future. I'm not privvy to what these changes actually are but I can hazzard some guesses as to what they are up to and can see that it would require extensive work and testing.

Pardon my ignorance, perhaps there is a function here I hadn't noticed. How did you come to the conclusion that I hadn't searched before I asked?

I'm only asking a question that has baffled me that I hadn't seen an answer for.

I like the KV team and think they are doing an excellent job. So this isn't an attempt to cast any doubts on them. I just cant get my head around the explanations for the down time that have been thrown around by god knows who.

the latest firmware in that bigmaq files and fixs is working here in bradford,if it works for me it should work for you.after that if you dont get channels you are picking a bad server from the list or you are having probs elsewhere.

i mean i dont have all channels but,i got factual and asian and sky sports.a couple of entertainment,fx,syfy+1.

just dont expect ALL the channels but,at same time be carefull what server you pick,i am in bradford and its not listed,if i pick leeds i dont get half the factual channels,if i pick barnsley i get all the channels although some are still scrambled.

a bit trial and error at the mo!
DOwnloaded BigMaq but when I click on "FIles & FIxes" although it brings up another window nothing is showing - any thoughts please?
