Default Arrggg, Baby Monitor woes ...

When its on the Baby Monitor kills Wifi signal to our Laptops so much so that Wifi is barely usable ... Tried using the 5ghz wifi frequency but its not strong enough to get through our old walls.. Other than not having Baby monitor switched on, does anybody have any secret lesser known tips for dealing with the dastardly Baby Monitor menace, maybe something like sticking a banana skin around the baby monitor receiver, or something else equally bizarre but effective... We need to use the Baby monitor evenings & night, but would still like to use Wifi too .. thnx..

Where is the WiFi base in relation to where you are using the laptops - moving it closer (extending the network/phone cable) may help - or adding a second base (repeater/access point).
Is the baby monitor audio only or AV - the AV ones use the same channel allocations in 2.4GHz as video senders - the oft suggested cure is a 5.8GHz sender but I don't expect AV baby monitors exist at that frequency.

The obvious things to try are changing the channels on the baby monitor sets (audio have only two, AV and video senders usually four), if that fails try a different channel on the base (usually from 11 in the UK) - the laptops should automatically find it when you connect.

What about the plug in the mains wifi, that way its traveling down the electicity cable and hopefully the baby monitor signal will not be in the way.
