Dunno whats changed but seem to be getting a certificate problem with every single page on the site now. Whenever I navigate anywhere I get a security alert popup saying there is a problem with *.google.com and asking if I want to proceed. Not sure why this has just started or even why such a thing should occur being as its not a https site so shouldn't require any certificates installed at the client end.
I presume its something google has done to try and track us all more efficiently ! edit: hmm, might also be something to do with paypal. The stuff I need installed to do online banking doesn't like the paypal donate site at all (https site paypal.com/en_GB/i/btn/btn_donate_LG.gif). The problem certificate still seems to be google though. Last edited by TheCoder; 18-04-11 at 10:36 PM. |

I presume you're not getting this with Techwatch at all??
Had the issue since Forefox 3 I think it was, when they introduced a raft of anti-phishing measures. The problem with Google is that their secure certificate is for Google.com, not Google.co.uk. So if you type google.co.uk/adsense - you get the certificate warning. But if you type google.com/adsense you're fine.

The problem was only occuring on this site but it seems to of resolved itself today. No idea what was happening except that every single page within this site wanted me to install a google certificate and I was getting rejection of the paypal donate gif, which my home banking software claimed was from a likely phishing site.

Right, I've replaced http with https on the Paypal link - still works fine, but should avoid any problems with secure certificate authetication.
