Default Can anybody shed any light on whats happened?

first of all Ive been reading the forums and people are saying 00:40 are no longer working... Im actually using 1, it keeps going down but if i do a simple reboot it comes back up.
But im trying to get another working for a friend who lives around the corner, i have a mac list as long as a giraffe's leg. full of 00:40 mac's sometimes i get operational and can get online for 10 mins, other times im getting nothing, I have even tried copying my stealth settings from my modem to his. But no joy. this has only just started to happen because up until last week or the week before everything was fine.
I also have another modem which is doing something totally different, not resolving an ip, which generally means the mac is dead... but if i put the mac into another modem i get online.. 10 mins then it dies.

I'd like to say its the mac's but they appear to work ok in my modem for a lot longer!

Im using macs with byte size of 476 on docsis 1.0 its really frustrating because i know its working still because of my modem... Ive tried tons of different mac's and I dont see where im going wrong.

any help ?
TIA

Are you getting a DHCP error in the event log?

I think that the byte size should be 416 and on docsis 1.0 for it to be working longer .....

Theres big differences throughout the system, some UBR's are happy with 0040's and lots of other settings/combinations and others are throwing everything out

It would seem to be the beginning of the end. I've changed my MAC 4 times now, each time it runs fine for about 20 mins then drops out. VM finally caught on.

Was a good run
