starview setup guide urgent please

hi all just picked up a starview 6 for £20, can anyone tell me how to fix this i've got the files an all just need to know how to set it up.thanks

found on another forum,, took a few seconds (change for the new firmware but should be easy to do) !!:

Whats needed
1. Starview 6 or 7
2. A usb pen drive with latest carling firmware on it
3. A working modem/router connection to net

From the main menu go to Utility and then press the right arrow button and select usb
from the right hand side, you will see the Carling/Guinness file press ok on it and make sure to select SW+ALL DATA UPDATE..

The machine will update and restart itself (Don't pull your memory stick out until the machine has fully started up and you can access menu again)
you now need to scan your channels, No spliters on your incoming cable when doing your scan and dont connect modem/router untill scan completed
Now go to installation press the right arrow button again and go down to AUTO CABLE SEARCH
all you need to change here is the symbol rate.
The symbol rate determines your area for example N*l is 6887, the other numbers are 6952 for Telepe** and EXc&w.
When you have selected your area go to start scan.

go to a pay channel and press 1819 on the remote.

fixed it yesterday, watched the arsenal match and the copa del rey final and perfect viewing not a glitch but the quality in nowhere near as good as my openbox but thats probably because i get hd lol and its run thru hdmi but the sd sky skysports is still better than the sv one but its all good im happy with what i got, my mate whom i bought it off has taken his grandmas and i fixed his too. will let you know how he gets on but so far so good

u will lol at this. chek it out, i used my mates usb to load the firmware onto his starview and he was watching pretty closely now he told his uncle he can fix them so his uncle started tellin evry1 in the neighbour hood he can fix any box which isnt working (pre nag 3)for £25. soon there wer loads of people knocking on his door and he said he can fix them as long as theres a usb port on the back.pmsl.it just shows u anythin for a bit of dosh

hope u told them all it might only run for 1 year or untill all boxs r sold. at min its looks that why untill dealer sell all boxs

im making my riches ,my mates got alot of relatives and friends with starviews, the dealer says £20 a fix but I'm charging a tenner fixed 3 today lol
