OK to answer your first question i.e. the one in the thread title yes jam is worth it especially if you can get it at aldi or lidl for 20p a jar m8 but you really should have posted this in the preserves section....

Now with regards to the KV, if you like you can have the same guarantee the old tit loving bag has that pigeons will never return to her garden. And i hope for your sake those werent racing pigeons as the guys who own and race them stick together and will come after you like gypsy triads and do unwanted things to every orifice on your body....
