It sounds like the PC is freezing during the Memory test, try removing all the memory then boot up the PC, this should bring up the warning beeps, if it still freezes start from scratch.
Remove the motherboard from the case and check for anything that can be causing a short, Check there are enough risers, stopping the motherboard from making contact with the case. Remove, and re-seat the processor, be careful not to damage any of the pins. Once done put everything back again but only connect the minimum of parts, PSU to motherboard, not to any other components, DVD's, Floppy drives, etc.. Just use one stick of memory, the CPU, heatsink and fan, then boot up. If it seems normal connect the graphics card and tey again, then connect the hard drive, with the Operating System, and see if it boots up. |

If the CPU was damaged then the computer shouldn't even start the boot up process, I was thinking that the problem could be over heating, due to dirt/dust, or down to an insufficiently powered PSU.
If the CPU has been removed, and inserted incorrectly, then it could become damaged, try putting it back together, using only the basic components, and see what happens. |
