Wink Eurovox Max box won't star/stay on ? Problem.

Hi,

I have a euro-vox Max box for a while and its stopped working all of a sudden.

When I power the unit off and on from the mains, it looks like its about to start up and the green light comes on and the other green lights do 1 cycle around the display and then it power off. It just off switches like theres no power going to it what so ever.

Can anyone shed any light on this ?

Other tan its buggered.....

Thanks in advance for any help....

Red face Re: Eurovox Max box won't star/stay on ? Problem.

hi, many thanks for your help

I'm gonna sound like a lemon but how do I know whether my Euro-Vox Max box is red or blue. I don't have the original packaging as advised in somebody elses post to check.

I have downloaded Voxer from the gmail drive and the both red&blue firmware files, i also have the cable. I will follow the tutorial post to do the update.

Thanks for the support...and great forum, great box, great people!

I've had the box for around 8 months now, I have never done any updates or editing on it.

Thanks

Sorry back again.

I opened the unit and kept the switch pressed inside the eurovox max, I then turned on the mains and the 2 greenlights[:] in the centre came on. I ran voxer and tried to send the firmware update but the software could locate the unit. I checked and tried using both of the com ports on my PC but still no joy, I also tried with a laptop.

I am not sure whether it could be the software, the cable or the unit. If I depress the button inside the unit it just switches off within 2 seconds hence i kept the button pressed whilst I ran several scans. I tried whilst it was connected to the scart/tv and rf lead and still nothing, i then tried it disconnected to the above.

I am going to get a new cable tomorrow and try again, can you advise me if you there's anything else or am I doing something wrong ?

Can you tell me where I might find the: DnUpMan program or can you email me it as I can't find it through the links on the forum?

Thanks again

Question Re: Eurovox Max box won't star/stay on ? Problem.

Hi,

Still no joy.

I tried it with 2 cables a PC and Laptop.

I also disabled all the other ComPorts but it just can't find the unit.

The only way the unit stays on is if I keep the button inside the unit pressed then the [:] green lights are on and I exe the send firmware but it seems the unit is not doing anything........

Can anyone help me please please please

Thanks.

you need a null modem cable m8, sounds like your using straight through leads.
