My Vaio VGN-NS10L has started making a continuous clicking/ticking noise. If I put mute on it stops, obviously. Laptop seems to be working OK but noise is annoying. Any ideas?

usually this clicking and ticking noises are hard drive related mate.

Make sure you have all the files you need on it backed up just in case.

Just read about someone with the same noise problem with a vaio. Turned out it was the cooling fan blocked with dust. Thing was heating up and putting this noise out through the speakers. if you still have issues, you could always send it to these guys:
