Thumbs up Re: I want to know

All up and running again?

Hi all,
just an update to say that I got the TP-Link 3g router today £20, got in from a place in Guernsey Channel Islands, No VAT or Postal charges, £20 delivered, what a good do.
OK set it up after about 2 hours of struggling but finaly got it working, once I did this I conected the kv up and works Brilliant.
I am using a Giffgaff sim card (Thanks to Quavis on this)
Huawei E220 3G Mobile Broadband modem dongle, unlocked £26 Ebay.
TP-Link 3g router £20 (Thanks to Bruce ica on this)
A KV 780 (Thanks to that fat dollop for selling me it at £100)
So if anyones like me and got no BB, then just get the Router, Dongle and after spending £46 for these 2 items, yer back on.
Regards Jam.

p.s after getting the TP-Link installed yer can use laptop and other pc's as well.

Keep us informed how it works over a period of time. I've tended to find this kind of stuff works fine most of the time but always seems to have problems at 'critical' moments due to the unpredictability of the mobile 'cell' loadings. You may just of struck lucky with the particular sim supplier in that there are few others in your area that use the same cell bandwidth.

Strangely, i've found the '3' operator to be the best IF you can actually get a signal in the first place. Their coverage is pretty ***** out of town but if you can get a good signal it seems to work well enough most of the time.

I've mostly found mid-afternoon/Early evening (3pm-9pm) to be the worst times. At a guess i'd say its probably all the schoolkids using phones to text/msn/skype and whatever else they do. Late evening or very early hours of the morning seems to be best (11pm-6am) although during the 9am-3pm slot seems to be ok as well. Weekends, it all changes and you can have problems all day although there tends to be less usage spikes (traffic is busy all day but not saturated so CS may or may not work, dependant on your location).

Yea A will do coder?
When A fell out with uncle Richard and he cut me bb off A got an o2 dongle and when A got it, a couldn't get on internet no way, no signal, couldn't buy credit on it, Rock all, A belled o2 about this issue and they said I should be able to get a connection But a coiuld not, so a threw the dongle in a drawer, anyhow one night a had rock all to do so a found out about the Giffgaff sim card (Quavis told me about this) so he sent me one ova and when a activated it all was good! a could get on line when a activated the sim card.
It's been brilliant since a put this sim in the dongle.
Anyhow like a said a got the 3g router and a better dongle (Huwaei) from ebay and set it all up and works really brilliant, no glitchen and it's really good so far.
So will try it at diffo times and days to see how it performs.
Will update on this.

Just an update to say since I got this router, it's been superb and working perfect, the only channel that glitches with it is TCM Movies, but apart from this it's been a real good little router.
