Yes i know... If i really want to THANK someone i can change my user agent to look like IE8 i suppose... (I prefer my privacy which is why i dont trust anything NEW from microsoft (YOU DONT KNOW WHAT IT MIGHT BE SENDING OUT))

So far as I'm aware, Internet Explorer has been sending anonymous data on users since the 90's. I'm sure this came up after Microsoft criticised the Google Toolbar for IE as a privacy issue, due to it sending user data to Google, only for Google to respond that IE was already doing that anyway.

If you're worried about privacy, Firefox has some good settings for this. Mozilla Seamonkey is another I use which is pretty harmless. Opera may be good as well.
