Default Oil leak

hi folks looking for a bit of help here. i have a Seat ibiza 1.4 year 2000 car with a major oil leak. i dont know much about cars so i hope that someone can help me fix it as i dont have the cash to put it into a garage to get fixed.

i have noticed that the leak is coming fron the engine cover and 1 of the 2 air filters is saturated with oil. i sarted the engine with the cover off and noticed that the breather hose was getting sucked it around the middle of the hose which could be a blockage but not sure. it does appear to be very weak in that area. i also noticed a very small hole in this hose.

does anybody think that if i change this hose it will solve the problem or could it be a more serious problem.

hope somebody can help me

thanks

Sounds like your building up pressure in your rocker cover

Start by changing the suspect hose and the saturated filter and see what happens. It may sound trite but get yourself a Haines workshop manual for your car and have a good read before you attempt anything. Some jobs just can't be done by the DIYer.
