Red face Problems with Pace DI4001N

I’ve recently bought a Pace N*L DI4001N with A/U Fun card, which was already programmed.

I have some issues and need some advice.

Firstly I suspect the cable box is rather old but I just ask if this was normal. I find when changing channels its extremely slow and I really mean that. Can I improved this?

Secondly I’m unable to enter my pin when accessing movies channel. I press the red button and then just sits and do nothing what so ever. I know for a fact the red button works and am able to scroll down when viewing the EPG guide.

Thirdly I get the annoying message when I change a channel. It displays the smart card isn’t in please check and ring blah blah. Hopefully you get the picture. Just wondered if this is something I have to put up with.

For your information. The box boots up with the N*L splash screen saying its updating and then it updates with the new V*rg*n Med*a screen. I am able to access all the channels Sky Sports 1,2,3 etc etc

Any help I get is greatly appreciated.

DI4001N is not really an old box, when you change channels, does it change channel straight away on you box, or do have to key in the channels a few times, if this is the case then the infra red on your box could be nackered, thirdly just move your card around a little, the card slot might a faulty.

At last... Thanks replying Tee_111, i was beginning to think the forums were was dead...

Just curious is it possible to repair the infra red..? Sorry am not into electronics.... if so how much would it cost to have it repair in my local repair shop?

Followed you advice and found that the card is somehow seated correctly, and no longer get messages.

Still having problems accessing Sky movies, red button still doesn't work

Never tried changing infra red screen on a DI4001N, but i have on a 1000 model, i just removed the infra-red slot and replaced with new slot that i had in a damaged box, try pealing the sticker off the front screen, at times it is dusty or filthy, dont think you can replace infra-red slot bcoz its built in DI4001N,

if its not reading your card properly it could be a faulty card, try doing a new card for your box.

Im also having problems with sky movies on pace models 4000..40001..etc only working fine on samsung boxes, when i press the red button i get nothing too, havnt had much time to mess around with the box just been a little busy last couple of weeks, hopefully will work it out soon.
