Default Italian TV FTA (Rai lost-Not sure what to do!)

Hi all,

I’m completely new to all of this so please be patient and go easy! Thanks.

My parents live in London, have a Sky receiver and satellite dish and use it to view free to air Italian channels (and have done so for a number of years).

Recently it’s stopped picking up Rai Uno, Due and Tre. In an ideal world, they would like these channels back.

What’s the easiest/cheapest/most straight forward way of getting these back?

I’m not sure whether this information makes any difference but……
They have never (and will never) subscribe to movies and/or sport channels.
They do have an Italian residence and Codice Fiscale but have never used it for TV subscription.

Basically, can they keep all of their existing equipment and just get a card to decrypt the lost channels? Or would they need a completely new receiver? (If so, which?).

Apologies for the numerous questions and lack of knowledge and thabnks in advance for any information and advice.

Have a look in the "satellite news" section where I asked exactly the same question earlier today - and got the right answer double quick.

Don't be tempted to buy a Tivu box if you only want the main RAI channels - they are still out there!

Thanks a lot Bratters! I'll try searching the different frequencies for them over the weekend.

(BTW, I was already looking into buying a Tivu box....hopefully, I won't have to!).

Thanks again.

The advantage of a Tivu box is of course that imost likely it would have automatically sorted out the new transponders for you, to save having to do a manual rescan of the new tps.
