Has anyone ever come across this issue?

"Local Area Connection does not have a valid IP Configuration"

any advice would be awesome, been reading alot of stuff and I just get more confused,

I used to get that on lappy with vista, different lappy with xp worked with the same mac and found its own IP.

i have same problem i can connect via Xp but when i connect win 7 moden not workin at all no IP
it's 250 modem i think they won't work with new windows so what did was bought a network switch and connect win 7 and it worked a treat now i will find wireless router and see if that works or will make 255/or 256 modem

I'm having the same issue can only accses the modem now if it's connected via a wired router

250 will not work with win 7 or vista u need 255 to work
