Default TM 5400CI+ bricked?

Hi. LEft the receiver on overnight and it looks like it finally packed up.
The front display is on but dimmed (sort of)- The digits can be seen but are dimmed. Menu is accesible but again osd looks dimmed and discoloured.
None of the channels stored pick up any signal. Anyone had something like this before? Checked the dish(es) with my other receiver and everything works as it should so there is nothing wrong with the dish or cables.
Factory reset/ power cycle/ forced upload and anything I could think of failed . Is this it?

Sounds like it is a bit buggerred at the moment yes. I know someone who has a 2nd hand one he wants to sell if you want his details.

Just a guess really, but sounds like a prob with the power supply, check for any caps that look dodgy.

Would be nice to buy the replacement, but it all depends on the price.
Thinking of another TM or of upgrading to more advanced stb. As of now and what I would use it for another TM would be just fine. SHot myself in the foot really as few months back I gave away TM1500 free

Finally found the bugger (overlooked it last time), and you were absolutely right Robbo that it is a blown cap. Managed to find which one it is, but can`t find a suitable replacement anywhere (spent couple of hours googling and reading forums and nothing. It`s G-Luxon marked: SM105`C 721D(M) 10v 1000uF.
Desperately trying to find one like it or equivalent and nothing. WOuld be a shame to scrap a receiver for a few pence worth of cap.
Anyone here knows where to find it? Pretty please

It is just a regular electrolytic capacitor, no need to get one identical, just so long as its the correct type (electrolytic) the the correct value (1000uF), and is rated at least 10V. (And you can get it to physically fit, might need to use longer wires if not).

Something like this for example- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-x-1000uF-16V...#ht_1156wt_905

Its 16V, but would be fine. I wold normally change a blown cap for a higher rated one anyway.

Thanks Robbo.
SO if I I say bought the one in your link and use it, it should work? (providing that this is the only problem wit the stb of course )
It would fit no probs with that size.
I am really gratefull for your help.
