Moved Thread to Satellite Cardshare..

It Depends on the box and dish.. if its just a normal dish and dm500c then that is to expensive..

£200 per year is also far to much, depends if he getting all HD channels too.

That sounds very expensive, I've seen servers advertised for around £10 per Month.

Absolutely no way I would pay anyone that kind of money when you dont even know if they wil support you when you have a problem and no way of telling if the server is good enough.. i.e no freezes and glitching and what not. And then not too mention how much down time you will get as well if and when it does go down. You can buy a Sat dish from eBay for 21 quid. I managed to get a 60 cm dish for 35 quid. Fitting one aint exactly hard if you have the correct tools.

LMAO.. extra 100 quid for a HD channels .... OMG you must be having a laugh.. Honestly just ask your mate to use ''Google'' with the correct words you can find plenty of stuff for cheaper then what you have been offered.

1) A cheap HD box would cost around 75.. that is the S9 / S10 open box. yet I would avoid the box.

Spend more and get a Dm800 clone for like 140 quid. Far reliable and works a treat.

2) if you look and research you shall find all the '' servers'' which you need / require within 5 mins of research.

3) The cost would be around 100 - 120 quid for a year and it would be a very reliable server as well. You would then have control over it as well.. i.e when it goes down or the guy does a runner at least you can switch to another one. This also means you can complain to him (Server Owner) if you have issues. However is not a wise idea to pay for a year's subscription in advance to any server owner. Max payout I would do is 6 months if it was me personally. 1year is a NO NO and not recommended.

What does this gain you???? well you cut the middle man out and you now deal with the supplier itself.

In return you gain knowledge... And not too mention you save allot money rather then using some middle man who is making a substantial amount of profit of your friend.

There is nothing hard in doing what everyone does... which is using C/S and there is certainly nothing difficult on how to enter client Lines and so on.

realistically speaking you can get a box for 140 quid and a years Subs for 100 quid.. in regards to STB it depends on which one you want. As an example lets say a DM800 (Clone). It can work out even cheaper if you get a different box as the one mention above and makes it even more cheaper.

Finally...

Tell the person who is selling this so called box and channels to hop on his / her bike in my opinion.

useing unadkat's example a hd box and package would cost £295 , dm800 =£140 , dish = £35 and sub +£120 , plus you will need an lnb and cabling .

the extra £55 you are being asked for is for fitting of the dish and flashing of the box . i guess .

i dont think thats a bad deal , IF you get a dm800 with newest sim and tuner , ask about epg and boquet updates .

you could get cheaper the secound year sub and you will have a year to learn howto .
