My laptops screen broke so i got another L300 off ebay and replaced the screen. However when i turned it on it just would turn on. I can hear the fan running but there is nothing displaying on the screen. I connected it to a monitor via VGA and there is nothing displaying on it as well. Im a little worried as i dont know whats wrong with it.
I have tried several procedures such as resetting the BIOS, removing the battery and using the AC on its own, but still no luck. Also another thing i noticed was that when i turn it on the power light comes on and the fan runs and theres no Hard drive light or anything else on. I can hear the hard drive spinning but its just like the computer is dead. Does anyone know whats happening, could this be fixed? |

Alternatively you might wanna boot that HDD externally using either your computer (desktop) or using a Caddy and see if they HDD is spinning up then. As far as your LCD screen goes mate ... As long as you have got the exact same model then it should have worked straight out of the box... I would check your connections mate. if you have everything connected properly and you have tested it on a external Monitor and still no display well that could be because your GFX card is mostly died on you and will need replacing.

Usually they are soldered onto to the main board with laptops. If that is the case then I think you could another gfx card from another laptop and solder it on. You have to understand what am telling you is a guess on weather the gfx is faulty. You should technically teoubleshoot it first before you start buying component.
EBay sell a lot of parts that would be your best bet. In regards to soldering if you don't know or have any ideas of how to solder then take it to a professional. Sent from my Desire HD |
