Default SV 6/7 - to pay or not to pay - a definitive answer

Hi all

We all know 'some' sv boxes went off last week (mine was one). Some pple have another few months on theirs.

We also know that someone is offering to re-connect boxes for £25 for 6 months or £45 for 12 months.

My question is - do I pay or not? Is it safe? Do I wait and see but what am I waiting for??

I am willing to pay, as let's face it I've had a good run (12 months) on my SV 6 box and even £25 is much less than VM want for the same channels.

I don't want this to turn into a 'I told you so, KV is better than SV, go sat route' row and end up in a big argument.

I just need some sound advice off ppl who know a LOT more than me re cs and it's goods and bads.

TIA

Susie

Its like this Susie, This game is about taking chances/Risks, If I had the S/v and it went off then the box would be no use to me sitting idle so i would be looking to get it on some how, the first step i would take would be the £25 one, providing this SOME ONE is the correct person to give you this option, i dont know how they do it, so its self choice here, Deal or No Deal

In this game as mentioned above its all down to tou if you want your channels. Paying for c/s is a risk as if anything happens then u know that your door would be the one that would be knocked. However saying that they wouldn't really come for u as they are after the big fish / server owners.

I dont think you would have any problems if you did decide to pay.

It could be if they decide to come after the little fish to get at the bigger one, £80 quid will be the least of your problems.

It has been said that the payment is traceable, but then your payment for the box is just as traceable, whatever box you have. Then there is the IP traffic as well. If anyone wanted to trace you, I don't think that making this payment would make any difference whatsoever.

I assume Linc would be accepting payments via pay pal and not cash. Infact am sure all traders will be doing the same... Unless they planning to use western Union on a different name but that is a whole different ball game and would rather not go down that route.

if that's the case then it would become a record itself. SO either way he doesn't necessarily have to keep anything as a record, because Pay Pal would do it anyway.

I know what you would say... well I could always turn around and say I sold such and such items... That would not work in anyone's favor, especially if its a large amount of sum

Paypal and any other payment gateways have to keep records for a minimum of 6 Years. Retailers are supposed to keep financial records for the same period. Some retailers may not keep detailed records, some may not be too detailed with cash or Bank Giro type receipts - but there is nothing anyone can do about Paypal or credit/debit card transactions.
