Shorting ? - crap .......... if he did short he will kill both sides of the EEprom .. .. then it really is an irreparable brick.

You would need at least a new replacement from EEprom from Korea and the ability to change it. Or do a ' hot flash ' EEprom switch with two live box's, this is a cheat way of rewriting the bad side of the EEprom, but the risk is even bigger - if you get it wrong you kill the good [ donor ] box as well. So .. .. two fubare'd wonk's.

What an engineer !!Thats not going to put the cert back on the box is it ?? as you would have erased it at best, so he still be in same boat, even if it did work, which it wont chance is he will kill the box.

Wasn't going to go down this road anyway guys although i do appreciate the fact Stoned face is trying to help. If the worst comes to the worst i'll just need to buy a new box from a reputable supplier such as Lincsat and put this down to a lesson learned.

dnt think its that easy as traders will have serials etc. for boxes they have sold, to stop corruption like this from happening.


have you tried to contact kv themselves, they are very customer friendly. i remember contacting them regarding a750 and iconnectors, then they informed me of a780 lan before it was released and also gave me it at trade price
