Default Which router to buy?

Ok, I have an old house some thick walls and want to get a router which is very strong with distance. I'm on Virgin, I was thinking of either a Linksys e3000 or the e4200 router. Any advice would be cool, thanks in advance.

it depends on what you want from a router but if i was going to buy one today it would be an asus rt-n16 .

im running a netgear wnr3500l atm and its great for most apps . media server works good . ive had oscam and cccam running on it too .

if its a big house with stone walls you might want to think about getting a wired router and some wireless accesss points. you'll have to wire the two, or use homeplugs but will be far better than just having the one wireless router.

i have three access points in my house, all wired to the router, coverage is brilliant

you dont have to wire them together if you set up a WDS : wireless distribution system or use routers as wireless bridges .
look for routers that can have third party firmwares to really get the best out of your equipment , e.g. ddwrt , tomato or openwrt . i prefeer toastmans tomato frimwares .
