hi folks, my mate who thinks himself as a bit of a mechanic has asked me to get a copy of vagcom. i downloaded a version of it but cant get it working. anybody know anything about this program?

You need the right lead for it to work. You can pick up leads from ebay for under £10 that will work with the old .409 version that has been cracked, but to be honest is pretty much useless if he intends to work on anything produced in the last 5 or so years.
There are cloned leads for the new 10.6 version kicking about (also on ebay) for around £50. But dont expect them to be compatable with any future releases of the software. Then there is the genuine lead. Retail is around £300. I own one myself and use it daily. IMHO you will not get a better diognistic programe for the money. If your friend intends on using it on a regular basic dont cheap out and buy the real thing. Would you really trust a cheap chinese cloned lead when programing £800+ control units? |
