Default Do all sat-navs charge for updates??

Im a bit confused on whats what.At the end of the year im taking my HGV course and i thought if i passed it would be really handy to buy a satnav system for the uk to help me incase i do long distance. I was looking at an RAC one on one of the shopping channels which was originally £180 but found out Woolworths have it for £130 and they said it has free speed camera updates for life, has lorry routes and does all the usual stuff like finding hotels, petrol stations etc. Now the question im asking is, is there any reason why I SHOULDNT buy this item.Id like some ideas or do you think it will do the ideal job for my HGV? Ive heard a lot about Tomtoms being the best too.
Basically i want a satnav with UK maps that will get me around the uk with a lorry without having to rely on too many pay updates. Here is the RAC satnav link..

For about £170 you can get a TomTom. Goto Halfords on the next Bank Holiday (28th May) and it will be £150. (Has been the last 2 BH's).

Never heard of that one you listed.

You can get Free speed camera updates from Usenet, or Pocket GPS World for about £2 per month.

You can get loads of POIs too, including low bridges etc.

I use a TomTom and would never be without it now.

However, don't do what this thick bitch did recently!

I use Tomtom 5 on my PDA, had the PDA for about 4 years now and have updated Tomtom regularly. It won't update to Tomtom6 though, so I'm stuck with just updating the speedcamera database now - but I've certainly had my money's worth
