I have a set of Bose PC speakers that I have the TV connected to through a 3.5mm jack cable. The cable is plugged into the TV headphone out socket and into the Bose Line In socket on the volume control for the speakers. I have recently purchased a Pure I-10 docking station for my Ipod and have also connected this to the sound controller of the Bose speakers via a 3.5mm splitter. The problem is that if I have both inputs connected then the volume is much lower but when I connect the idividual inputs, whether it's the TV or the Ipod then the sound is OK. How can I get round the problem of having to keep connecting and unconnecting the 3.5mm jack plugs? I thought that maybe a splitter which is switched may be the answer but have't been able to locate one.
