Default Sky+HD box Input 1 no signal ..

Hi, Im testing a Sky+HD box, I have no card of my own to insert into it.. I get a signal & channels with sat cable plugged into input 2, but not if I plug it into input 1 .. Does this mean this box is faulty, or do both inputs only work together when an active card with a Sky+ subscription is inserted, like, does Input 1 remain inactive untill a viewing card enables it .. thnx

go into the menu and there will be something about signal, test both inputs this way as if im right in thinking tuner 1 is for recording and tuner two is for viewing

Yea, when plugged into input1 the menu says not locked and no signal strength, but plugged into 2 and all is fine with that.. So, if as you say input1 is for recording I guess input1 only gets activated when a Sky+ enabled viewing card is inserted?? Could that be how it is?

i would have thought that using the signal strenth info on the box would have showed the "health" of them regardless

go in to the menus and make sure both inputs are switched on
then go in to settings move along to signal
this will tell you strength in input 1 and 2

you need to get into the installer menu and change the box to single feed if you only have one feed then it will work also do a full reset(installer menu) and software down load, hold back up and turn power on till all lights come up
