Default Connect Sky +HD, TV and Surround Sound

I am trying to connect my LG32LZ50 TV to a sky+HD box and a Sony Suround Sound DVD Player and can't get everything to work without having to move cables. It has worked once but I had a sky engineer to come and add a Sony Hard Drive recorder which I have subsequently disconnected and rather stupidly, I didn't make a note of all connections before the hard drive recorder was added. I have just spent 3 hours trying to solve the problem but it has beaten me. Can anyone help?

Presumably you'd have a HDMI cable between the DVD player and the TV?

As for the Sky box - did he connect the HDMI direct to the TV with sound output to the DVD player, or simply connect the HDMI to the DVD?

Model Number of the Sony DVD would help.
