yes... you'd have to actually aim it at the satellite taking into account the offset that would then be in the horizintal so it would be off to the east or west depending on which way it's turned 90 degrees.. & then allow for the new elevation needed in that position which would be as a prime focus not an offset... obviously

can't see the point really but it might help in a situation... can't think of one atm...... aiming through a very narrow south facing wimdow in a no dish policy dwelling... or a very narrow gap in trees ?

as per post 8# / 11# ... it just won't work as well ...

Inside the lnb there is a horizontal antenna & a vertical antenna - when you turn the lnb 90 degrees the vertical antenna receives the horizontal signals & the horizontal antenna receives the vertical signals & they will be handled just the same in the lnb & providing the stb knows about it by swapping h to v on the tps list [or blind scanning], then it will all work.... it just won't work as well because the sky dish & lnb is very well designed to work as intended so you lose some of that design advantage..... except as I said- if you only had a very norrow view.. it would help there.

You can turn a sky dish [or any dish] upside down - in that case you don't need to swap H to V as they will be the same orientation.. but the offset angle will be reversed so it will aim at a much higher elevation than a prime focus dish [by the offset angle] and the lnb & feed arm will not get in the way... that's useful if there is excessive noise under the dish or for low elevation satellites to reduce ground & city noise .. but the lnb & f connector need to be dealt with as regards letting water in & drainage.

Are you not just fed up with all dishes looking the same. He/she obviously is.

I have been called to an install where the dish was mounted upside down. I took a picture, must look for it and post it up.
