so virgin lost lost 720 million pounds to these three guys if they were in business for five years i smell the whiff of bull

heavy sentances though if they were crack dealers they would have got less

Unfortunately, courts nearly always look at 'potential' loss as its very difficult to determine the real loss. In this case they have simply decided that the potential loss is £30 per box per month.

If you were looking over the 5 year period you cant just multiply the one year amount by 5. You have to account for a gradual build up, so, lets say in the 1st year it would be 1/5th of the £144 Million, 2nd year 2/5ths etc....

sounds like it. they had a guy delivering them.

your adverage joe doesnt want to get his box home and have to order a null modem cable offov ebay.. he wants to plug it in and watch a movie he's already seen.

From what I remember of them they were all flashed with fully operational firmware by the manufacturer - there was no FTA version.

again, this setup involved hardly any skill and certainly no technical expertise,

they simply put money into a deal, fetched in the stb's and flogged them to the masses.

they deserve every thing they get.
