400,000 odd boxes at likely around £50 per box markup - thats a cool £20Million profit. When you start talking those kinds of money, the sentences really do go up to match !

some (in fact, quite a few) were pre flashed when you bought them, depending on which company they were bought from. as mentioned, could be squeeky bum time for those who actually sold them pre flashed.

Yes Dave but not from the importer themselves re-sellers would sell them pre-flashed. When your liberty is on the line you have to be more careful i suppose, I hate to hear about anyone getting a sentence for this caper regardless of how much they financially gained from it. Claims of being ripped off to the tune of £144m is bollox too, VM probably gained in the long run financially from all the folk signing up to telephone, basic package and BB just so they could buy a dodgy box because most buyers would never pay full subs anyway. Also if that were the case most of that non existent revenue would have went to SLY anyway seeing as they own the bulk of the pay channels.

A bit late, but if the EV's still worked then this could really serve as a massive advertisement with people thinking "Oh, I got to get me one of them"
