Default DM800HD slight Glitching

Hi guys,

I have 2 DM800HD (genuine) running on 2 separate motorised dish setups.

Both boxes suffer from glitching (don't want to talk about my subcriptions - but they are good ones), not major unwatchable glitching but just the odd flicker or pause every 5 - 10 minutes. Is this normal or is it other factors causing it?

I was thinking it was because these boxes get very hot (even sat on cooling fans).

Does anyone who's had a 800HD and now has a 800HDse or 8000HD know if these boxes are completely glitch free and if they run much cooler?

Ta very muchly!

you sure they are Genuine Boxes ? Doesn't sound like they are Genuine boxes mate. I was aware that Genuine boxes don't have this Over heating issues and also Genuine boxes do not have a FAN mounted on top of the heat sink either.

The glitch issues is usually down to you not having an Inline amp mate. I would suggest that you get an Inline AMP and try it out. you would want one which is 13 - 18DB

Kind regards

my dm800 has been on all the time for the past 18 months. it does get warm but not hot. i dont have or ever have had any cooling pads and it sits on the shelf with nothing on top or below it.

i've never had my box or freeze. it does glitch on the hd chans on 28e occasionally but thats down to the weather outside as its a black glitch thing rather than the colorfull one.

i dont know anything about the se or any of this sim thing as i've never found fault with mine

Cheers for the replies.

They are definately original boxes (the fans are laptop coolers that i've sat the boxes on) and both boxes get really warm if left on.

The glitching is more common on HD channels though! Just wondering whether it was a heat issue with these boxes.

Out of interest, what images are you guys running with (i'm using open pli nightly build but used to use nabilo blackhole v0.12)?

Cheers

I have had the DM box for almost 18 months now and never had any issues at all mate. In regards to the heating issues well my box is ON 24/7.

Mine is a clone and I am using an Image called ''DACube'' Boot-loader 72. (Modified by Rami Maher)

Seeing as you have the genuine boxes it will be different for you I would imagine. I would recommend that you get a Inline Amp because this Glitching issues do mainly happen with the HD channels.

And I thought the Over heating problems mainly consisted with the clone boxes.

I used use the PLI image on the clone box and was very satisfied with that image I must say.

Very stable image!

It's a great image with good support! Think i'll have to try the ibline amp out - see if it sorts out the glitching!

Cheers guys
