Default Wireless fixed itself!

Hi about 2 weeks ago I got a screen saying a programme had corrupted my wireless settings and had resorted to the original settings! now it was requiring the key code from the router, well I just connected up the cable as I didn't know at that time where the key was, the other day I installed office 2007 and i didn't want it to start looking for updates just yet so I took out the cable connection. Once installed I clicked for the internet and now the wireless works, anyone know what happened there?

Clueless

Thanks i advance
