Default Philips LCD TV 42PFL7623D

Okay this is my tv i have

what i want to know is how do i connect the Digital Audio Out port to a Optical out on my home theater?

any ideas ive look in the manual. im confused :S

The connection you have there is I assume a Digital Coax. You cant connect it to a optical out unless you have a converter and that would cost you around 30 quid.

I don't know how well they work but this question was raised a few months back with some one else on here and I posted the link for it.

Best bet is use the RCA phono red and white connections. wont make a lot of difference using a converter.

I assume he wants the 5.1 rather then the stereo 2.1.

Aye i do want 5.1 and ive sorted it now thanks guys and yes unadkat your right did need coax for the ditgal out and a converter works and sounds better than the standard RCA conections i was using
