Default Need New LNB, I think

Have started to get channel brake up on sky 1, atlantic and a few other on all my sky boxes, think the LNB could be on its way out. Whitch LNB would you recomend, Technmate .1 DB Gold or Icecrypt .1DB, both would be Quad. Dont use a standard SKY dish by the way.

LNBs generally last.... check for anything that is in the way of the dish aim that wasn't there before ... mainly tree growth - leaves etc... there has been extreme tree growth this year ... or if something new has been built in the way.

also check cable & connectors for damage, any connectors being loose or water getting in a connector outside?

also is there any new wiresless equipment installed & especially too near the sat box or even in a neighbour's?

Could you borrow another box to check it isn't the box... usually the PSU but could be elsewhere..

if there has been a cable fault & it cauised a short it could cause other damage.

Nothing in the way of the dish, cables all seam tight and the amalgamating tape is sound, Signal strength is about 2/3rd (dish is a good 18m from receiver, quality 100%. We have 3 boxes connected to 65cm dish. All are fine except on sky 1 sky Atlantic where they skip and brake. If you rewind the Sky + for about 30 seconds then play they don’t brake up. Tried card in spare box and its exactly the same.

you could have an electrical fault on something [one of the sky boxes or a tv or something/ anything else connected etc.. all going through the lnb case to an earth] you could try switching everything off & try one box at a time

could be the lnb ... not sure why time line delay helps though.

If your sky+ is running time shift, then a doubt it's an LNB fault, is the box getting hot ?

Well everything is now working perfectly so I have no idea what the problem was. Considering it was affecting all 3 boxes.
