Question EMM Capture and Emulation for Eurovox

regarding EMM Capture and Emulation for Eurovox
These 2 options come up when you type in 1968 twice in the language settings
just wanted to know what they are, and what they used for ?
i guess there something to do with encryption keys, but a more detailed explanation would be good.

Emulation, is Enabled by default
EMM Capture, is Disabled by default

i have read in the guide that EMM Capture should be Enabled, is this true and is there any benefit in doing this, being its not enabled by default.

ive read the tutorial thats why im questioning it, emm capture is disabled by default but the tutorial says emm capture should be enabled, but it dont say why and what is does, the eurovox seems to work and update keys fine as default so i was wondering what benefit enabling it will do.

I was told some time ago on here it's when the eurovox is trying to update and gets stuck in a loop enabling emm stops it from doing this. I have tried it when my box gets stuck updating and it seems to work.

Word of advice if you turn your eurovox of at the mains it will set emm capture back to off

I agree with mitford

The way I see it but I stand to be corrected.

Emmulation - the software makes the box imitate the cable company's box
EMM Capture - freezes the picture frame to allow it to decode after a key roll

The mysterious thing is for some boxes it makes no difference whether
enabled or not yet for others it does.
so when a box is struggling to update the codes check that emm capture is enabled, its quick and costs nothing to try.

Entitlement Management Message option, is a leftover from the Sat/card days of the Eurovox. Although its debatable that it is of any use in todays circumstances as it is essential a softcam box.

Taken from a document on Smart Card Technology

EMM - Entitlement Management Messages are encrypted data that contains entitlements and content key
