Hello people. I have had a nokia d-box 2 for around 10 months and i have not had any problems with it. I dont know much about it, i just plug it in and watch the channels that are available. I am currently with Virgin media. Recently i did a service scan and got the new movie channels, and some other channels that i was not getting. Since then though, i have not been getting the PPV events channels (wrestling/boxing). I have got the channels, but the programmes are not coming on.

Should a do another service scan to get this cannel back? If so, should this be a fast scan or not?

Also i live in bolton and i have 2 numbers that i can toggle. Cable UK Sym 6952, and Cable UK Sym 6887. What are these numbers- which is best to scan with?

I would be extremely grateful for any ideas or information- as i am not very technical.

The symbol rate depends on your cable infrastructure, basically ex TW is 6952, ex NTL is 6887 and ex C&W is usually 6887 with some 6952. I believe the PPV Events question has been answered on another thread.

If you get yourself Bouquet Wizzard You can easily generate a Myservices file to rename the Sky Movie channels and get rid of the PIN screens.

1 last question mate. I have always done service scans using a quick scan on 6952. If i take quick scan off- or change to 6887- am i likely to get other/more channels???

Unlikely - if you have a newer image, you can set your location and it will do a (very) fast scan, you can also set background or sectionsd scanning that will find and update channels in the background while you're watching TV.
