Default Media center issue.

Hello All,

I got a Satbox and it has Hdmi and composite out.
The HDMI is connected to the tv and I want to record some programs while i am away from home basically to use as a PVR. My problem is windows media center wont take the composite in in the front of my HP media center PC.
first time it scanned but the remote didnt work.
now when it scan it says viewing or listening conflict ( i can hear sound)

Please help!
thanks in advance.

When you run TV setup you are choosing Composite as the source for the TV, or are you incorrectly choosing Satellite?

On Media center to set up the tv signal i have three choices.
Cable
Sat
Analouge

when i go to sat it pickes up composite 2 without picture and goes through the remote blaster config.

Thanks

They're 3 tuner options.. You would select Sat if you was connecting a Dish to a DVB-S card input on your PC.. Your not plugging anything into a tuner, your connecting a composite video lead.. Do you have an Analog Tuner antenna connection on your PC (TV card antenna input) ? If you have then I think you would need to go out from the RF out on the sat box into the aerial input on the PC then select analog.. And then, it seem you need a remote blaster to go any further with the setup, but if you dont have one I think Microsoft released a patch/utility called Virtual IR Blaster, might be worth googling for that.. But composite into MCE aint a goer, I believe you have to input into a tuner card input from the RF output (if it has it) from your Satellite box...
